Raphinha and Pedro Gonzalez Lopez Pedri have stepped up to become part of Barcelona’s captaincy group, with Marc-Andre ter Stegen the new leader.

‘Ufabet Sport’ reported on Friday that Barcelona players voted for Pedro Gonzalez Lopez, Pedri and Raphinha to be the team captains, while favorite Robert Lewandowski was not as expected. 

Sergi Roberto’s departure has seen Marc-Andre ter Stegen become Barcelona’s new captain, the eighth foreign player to take on the role since Romanian defender Giorgi Popescu shared the role with José Mari Baquero in 1996.

While Ronald Araujo and Frenkie de Jong will be promote to the second and third captains respectively, before voting for the fourth and fifth captains, with Pedri and Raphinha beating out Lewandowski to take on the role. 

The selection of Raphinha as the team’s fifth captain ยูฟ่าเบท came as quite a surprise, given that the 27-year-old has struggled to become a regular starter for Barcelona and has also been link with a move for sale.

Frenkie de Jong has been one of the most criticised players, especially on social media, and he will be the fourth. A player whose future has been up in the air on several occasions and, for the moment, is recovering from injury.
